There comes a point of time in every person's life when he feels that his career has become stagnant. It neither seems to move, nor offer better opportunities for growth in near future. This is generally attributed to the fact that the person uses up his talent to reach a certain position in his career and has nothing more to offer to his company, due to which he remains at the same position, year after year. In order to come out of this situation, this same person would need to make efforts and acquire some new skills.

This solution is met with the disturbing reality that a jam-packed day at work and with family leaves little time for pursuing a course to enhance one's skills. Also, as is mostly seen, the place where this course is available is generally in a different city and leaving a job to pursue a course seems out of the question. Once a person is settled in his career, he faces the great compunction of giving up a steady income to chase his academic dreams. This path is often met with many hindrances and is thus forsaken midway. However, online means of education has opened up innumerable options for people who wish to enhance their qualifications and add useful skills to their resume.

There is a need to analyze the role an executive education course plays in forwarding the career of a person in his field of interest. Since it is a form of distance learning, will it be able to deliver the same skills that are imparted by an in-classroom course? A group of professors, students, employers, and employees were questioned about the same in order to get an insight into the pitfalls and opportunities that come along with studying online. However, the results favored online education and the immense avenues that it opens up.

There are a large number of people who have significantly benefited from such online programs. Not only have these courses given a definite boost to their position, but also inculcated in them problem solving skills, holistic thinking, and a broader vision.

Employers share similar views and opine that executive courses build skills in a way no classroom teaching ever can. Employers these days encourage their employees to pursue such programs and bring in fresh perspectives to the table. Participants of such programs not only learn new skills, but are also able to employ these skills in their job roles and get desired results for their respective companies. These examples and testimonies of participants of the courses, the employers, and faculty goes on to prove the fruitfulness of such executive courses.
